8 hours, 33 minutes, 28 seconds

I installed FP4 for Lotus Notes 8.5.1 today on my office pc. Its a Lenovo R500, 4GB RAM with Windows 7 Ultimate (64Bit). I’ve already heard from others that there are some “timing problems” with the recent fixpack. But I never expected this

Anyone more ??

  1. FixPack.exe writes Hotfix.ini line by line, and here is the problem : FP3 Hotfix.ini file size was ~7ko, FP4 version is >1Mo…
    If you stop realtime A/V Scanner, the process should be faster, because A/V analyse each writes to hotfix.ini

    Writing a 1Mo file line by line… “lol”.

  2. Check jvm.properties is properly tuned before updates also makes a huge difference.

    Install took me 7 minutes. on a amd {henom II x4 940, 6gb win7-64 homebuilt.
